Did you see the results for the last vote? People here are a bunch of drooling morons. They'll vote for anything as long as they are reassured it's for their own good in a 20 second TV spot.

You may not be aware that the Democrats have finally gotten their supermajority in this state. That means they have the ability to raise taxes for whatever, whenever.

They are already talking about tripling the car registration. Next year it'll cost me 1200 bucks to get a year sticker on my plates. I'd rethink that move.
So Cal is home. It is six to one, half dozen of the other. I live in a Red State now and if the politicans had their way here, everyone would be required to attend an approved church at least three times each week.

You can relax, at least for now, the guy decided to drop the proposal for obvious reason. Probably a bunch a hate mail ...

I know you need a CHP inspection if you do an engine swap, I don't think you need it for anything else. I put the stock tune and stock cats on and passes smog every time.

I pray for your soul moving into Cali. Most of us want to move OUT but cant for one reason or another. Smog is the biggest bitch to overcome but like others have said as long as you have cats and no CEL's you should be fine.

Saw this today and just HAD to come back to this thread.

11 states that have more people taking out of the system than are putting in.

IE: Good places not to live. "Death Spiral" states.

Not true. They can raise taxes for whatever reason the Democrats want and agree to. Heck, they don't necessarily need Moonbeam's signature since they have a super majority and can override a veto.

What they cannot do is overturn Prop 13 (or change any parcel tax restrictions) without putting it on the ballot, but it will only require 50% + 1 vote to pass the ballot initiative. And with the super majority they can now put propositions on the ballot without having to go through the signature qualification process.

California sucks, and I've been here long enough to remember when it was a good state. Yeah, that was a very long time ago -- about the time the Mustang was born...
