4/12/2014 & 4/13/2014, Mojave Mile
The subject line says it all, that's the date, registration is now open.
Airport runway and 1 mile to go all out, then about a mile to slow down.
$389 for both days, $239 for just 1 day.

I'm already signed up. Anyone else?

Oh yeah, where else can you legally get anywhere near the top speed of your car?
Still shooting for 200, only got a 179.2 last time before the intake pipes blew apart at a coupling... on a shakedown run w/13 lbs of boost.
I didn't even run the race tune.

Well, The Texas Mile registration opened today at noon, and has already sold out less than 4 hours later. Mojave Mile still has plenty of spots. The spring event (4/12-4/13) may be the only west coast standing mile event this year. There are a few half mile events I know of, I'll post them up on separate threads even though I haven't gone to any of them yet, but this basic info is that they are called:
"No Fly Zone" (spring date TBD)
put on by Omega Motorsports in Shafter, CA
"Airstrip Attack" (4/19 & 4/20)
put on by Shift-S3ctor in Coalinga, CA

Just a little over a week to go and there is still space to get in. Next week I'll take my car to RET for a once over to verify everything is running at peak, then drop by Modbargains to get the tires road force balanced before heading out to Mojave for tech on Friday (4/11) afternoon. I'm hoping to get a good run in at full power. I'm not so sure my gearing is ideal since 5th gear ends before 200 and 6th goes way beyond in my calculations, it would be better if either 5th or 6th ended up at just over 200 in order to get all the mechanical advantage possible.
Anyway, looks to be a good mix of cars & bikes showing up this spring, including a good number of mustangs of various flavors.

All checked & teched in. Got the green light on the once over and actually put down 916rwhp on the race tune with 27lbs boost before we turned it back to just 863 on 23lbs to keep it plenty conservative.

The first day of racing is done, overall it went good had one little hiccup when the oil cap didn't want to stay on with 25psi boost, got the area cleaned up and will just duct tape it on so I can continue to push it tomorrow.
I've got some other pics, but don't have the right cables or computer to get them downloaded... had a backpack lost/stolen in Downey, right across from the police station.
Anyway here are today's results:
I think I can get there on 25psi, just need to drive and shift better.
