Painting my GT?

Painting my GT?
Hey all, sorta new to the forum, figured I'd kick off with a question.
Does anyone in my area (Tracy/Stockton/Modesto/Livermore) know of a good place to get my car repainted? I went to Anthony's Auto Body here in Tracy, and the guy at the desk quoted me $4,000 - $5,000 to repaint the whole car, and fix my driver side lock (someone broke in with a screwdriver but luckily didn't take anything.)
Is this a reasonable price, or does anyone have experience with a lower rate with good work?

Sorry I'm not familiar with that area so I cant help you out there. How bad is the current paint? 4-5K is actually not a bad price if they are going to repaint the whole car, including door jams and under the hood and trunk. Paint is one of those things you get what you pay for. You can go cheep and get a Maco job that will last 2 years and look horrible or you can pay 4k and get a great, show room finish job.
You should check out Yelp for local feedback.

I am hesitant to use Yelp any more. A lot of those reviews are bogus (paid or friend of the business).
Talk to your insurance company and ask them who's on their list. Most insurance companies keep a record of good shops in the area. They don't want complaints or comebacks for crappy work.
Then call or drop by the places on your own and talk to them. Let them know you were referred to them by your insurance company. They will be less likely to try and screw around if they know a bad review could cost them a big reference/referral source like an insurance company.
