Buying rims online in the US from Canada

Has anyone bought a set of rims and tires online from the US? What are the additional charges on top of the price of the tire do we have to pay. It seems substantially cheaper to buy them there but i am wondering what the surprise costs are in shipping, customes, taxes etc? Also, what about buying used rims from someone in the US. Is there anything extra that we have to pay or is it just the price of shipping? Thx for your help guys!!!

I just paid $1185(tax in) for my 17x9 cobra R's with 245/45/17 Z rated rubber in Canada. Rims and Tires are brand spanking new btw.

I don't know what kind of rim you're looking for, but there are deals to be found up here as well.

I bought a set of 17" S220's off of ebay for $510 CAD with shipping to my door. The shipping was just under $100. I bought the rubber locally.
