Yeah most likely, I'm always driving around campus. You go to State?

Default Advice on repairing head gasket

I have an '03 cobra with a head gasket issue. Anyone have any experience with getting a repair like this done in the Raleigh area? Haven't lived here too long and just don't know who will do a good job.

Check out Piedmont Custom Motorsports in North Raleigh, one of the guys that run it is the son of one of our members. Here's the website:
http://www.piedmontcustommotorsports.com/
They host dyno days there for the club every once in a while, too.

I've read some pretty nasty reviews on Piedmont, whats your take on it. I try to take reviews with a grain of salt.

From what I understand there was an issue with one of the owners once upon a time. That guy is gone now but the bad taste he left lingers for a while.

I've seen some of the work they do and it looks good to me. Of course to get an accurate assessment you would have to take the number of negative reviews and compare it with the number of cars/jobs they've done to see what kind of percentages there are. People who are happy with their cars don't generally write reviews, they're too busy driving.

The best thing you can do...and this applies to any shop...is to go and talk to them and take a look around to see what kind of work they do.

Some club events coming up:

3/24 Dyno Day at PCM, new thread is up
3/30 Charity laps at VIR, Jeff has a thread up about this
3/31 Pik N' Pig cruise in, Carthage NC
4/19-4/22 Food Lion Auto Fair in Charlotte (not put on by HCMC but we will have an official contingent there, yours truly will be part of that)
4/28 Mustang display at Crossroads Ford in Cary
5/19 Mustangs of Burlington car show, in Burlington (where else?), this is always a great show
10/6 HMCM car show, a ways out but never too soon to plan!

I'd love to see some of you at these events, anyone wanting details let me know and I'll try to find some information. Some of them can be found on the HMCM forums (you don't have to be a member to view the threads).

We might be able to make the Burlington Show.

The Autofair is the weekend before the Dragon so I know we've got the kids but we might drag them along. I'll talk it over with Jenn when it gets closer.

Last year was a great show, the pics are here. Be prepared to stay awhile, there are 139 pictures in that album.
The Daytona Cobra is a MOB club car, it was at VIR's holiday laps, too, and it was awesome. (VIR pics are here.)

I do kinda hate the club's display is going to be on the Tail of the Dragon weekend. Guess I'll have to miss that one...
