I still haven't upgraded to LR5... I'll just get LR6 when it comes out lol. I got LR4 for free so can't complain.

I'm kinda in the same boat. The one big benefit is that you always have the most current version without having to buy the upgrade.

If you always want to have the latest version, it's FAR cheaper than paying outright for the program. Of course, if you're good buying it once and never upgrading then it's fine to buy one version. Photoshop CS6 is $700 itself so you can have the photography package for 5 years before you paid for that alone. Plus, CS6 is 2 versions old now. The only way to get CC is with a subscription. Just depends on what you need I suppose.
