Sorry..got a little out of hand there.
The battery IS under the back seat and many many (real) bugs have been burned to the ground by it.
The battery terminals are supposed to have plastic covers over them so when someone sits on the back seat the steel seat frame doesn't ground across both terminals..BUT..people throw those plastic terminal covers away or lose them and the horsehair in the back seat catches on fire.
And did you know that the pressure for the windshield washer reservoir is provided by the spare tire? Yep..An air line goes from the valve stem on the spare to the reservoir...If you clean the window too much you have a flat spare.

And then...and then...in German Volkswagen means " peoples car" and was designed by some guy named Porsche. I think he had a son named Turbo and a Daughter named Carrera. Just think, without Adolf Hitler we would have never had the Bug. (or WWII)...... Sorry Dave...Just messing with you.

Bugs are awesome!!!! The New Beetle? Well it may have sorta kinda but not really retained some of the shape but it is absolutely NOT a Bug.
Sorry if I got out of hand there...it's like someone calling a Suzuki Samurai a Jeep...nope

Yep..started out from Kingsport TN to Bridgeport NJ then to Ridgewood IL..then to Portage WI and to Roaring Springs PA. Then to Avanel NJ and now to Monroe NC...then back to Kingsport and then to Bell WV and back to Kingsport for a weeks vacation !!!!
