OK another update...

I just stopped by Shanes to see if there would be a problem with us filling their lot with Mustangs and they gave me a deer in the headlights look...

It seems that 1PM is their busy time of the day, so to accommodate a large group might be a bit chancy. They asked if we can move the time back a bit. 3:30 is their slow time, so they would absolutely love it if we could come in about that time and liven the place up a bit.

So, now we should have things finalized: April 7, 2012, Shaynes Rib Shack, 5811 Poyner Village Parkway, BLDG 101 Suite J1, Raleigh NC 27616 at 3:30 PM.

I'm guessing a group of about 20, but if we have more than that it shouldn't be a problem. Also, they have no problems with us pushing all the tables together so that we can all socialize without having to shout across the room at each other.

Is everyone OK with that?

Like they say in Russia, "Sounds good to me".......Although, I've noticed that it sounds different when they say it.

Sounds good to me. Maybe we could hit the cruise-in first and then head over?

Lets say "Someone" was coming from Raeford, what time would that "Someone" have to be there to link up and attend?

If that "someone" wanted to do the Atlantic Ave Char-Grille cruise in, he would be invited to get there as the festivities start at 2PM. If not, he could just pop in to Shaynes at 3:30. Either way would work.

ok so who all wants to do the cruise-in?

Alan, do you want to meet up somewhere and ride up together? I assume you're taking 40.

Well since that "someone" now knows there is an invite and timeline, I believe he will try to make it by 2PM.

Jeff...I will be coming up I-85 to Greensboro. If I can talk Rhonda into the cruise-in, any chance we could hook up for the I-40 leg?
I think Alan and Debbie are going up early to visit family.

That would be great Steve. I think you're right... he even posted that. That's what I get for posting in a hurry.

I guess it depends on whether we attend the Char-Grille cruise in before we eat. What is our plan for that? I would imagine we will hit the road after we eat.

Alan...I'm thinking 2:00 ish till 3:00 at Char-Grill and then move over to Shaynes Rib Shack. According to Google Earth it's just 3 miles between the two. I'm sure we will also leave after we eat.

Jeff...Is that even close to what you were thinking?

Larry...Does that sound OK for you?

Yep, that sounds about right. If you REALLY wanted to be an early bird, there's Cars n Coffee at Briar Creek at 9AM... but then there would be a significant gap between 11 and 2PM.

So thanks to Alan I got a replacement diffuser at a great price and I took the car to the body shop today. Five bills will get the bumper cover repaired and painted and everything put back together. Given that a new bumper cover is right around four and a half, unpainted, that seemed like a pretty fair price.

I slid underneath it today and checked it out, thankfully it looks like all of the metal pieces including the bumper itself was spared damage so once the bumper cover is repaired and the new diffuser put on it should look like nothing ever happened to it.

Pete's Body Shop in Creedmore is doing the work, they did a bang-up job on the hood and I'm expecting similar excellent results with the other end of the car. It goes in the second of April and it should be back Friday afternoon, just in time for the GTG on Saturday. If not I guess I'll be driving the banana boat.

See everyone at Char Grille at 2! I've heard noises like it doesn't really get cranked up there until 3 or 3:30 but we can start them off right anyway. I'm hoping that some of the HCMC guys will show as well, we will see how it goes.

Larry...That Alan guy comes in handy. Sounds like a deal on the repair. I think I'll drive to Raleigh and check it out.

hmmm... I wonder where that difuser came from. Did you get it for somewhere around $100?

Sounds like a good deal Larry.
