Test and Tune at ZMax dragway in Concord August 10
Going to the test and tune this friday at Zmax in Concord NC (just north of Charlotte). Not trying to plan some elaborate meet or anything, but figured I would post up in case anybody else was wanting to get a run or 2 in.

Do you know how strict they on safety tech?? By the rules, I am supposed to have a roll bar, but I refuse to cut up the car to put one in. Therefore I am "limited" on track choices. I just haven't heard how tough they are on street cars from anyone that has run there.

ok, well something has some up and I won't be able to make it, but I will be there the next friday. GT500, I have no idea how strict they are. I think on their website it says under 11.5 has to have a roll cage, but I'm not sure how they enforce it. Alan, check in starts at 5, racing from 6-9.
So next friday the 17th????

Is this the only night they do test and tune? I'd rather go to the charlotte track than darlington if people will be there, but unless I take off work early I won't make it there until at least 7, and 4 hours of driving for only 3-4 passes is a bit much.

i've been twice--lots of fun! however...be there when "doors open"...lots of ppl show up late and runs get very far in between. but if you're there early you can literally line up every 5 mins if you wish... as far as strict-ness...if you run too fast without roll cage you will not be allowed to run again. witnessed a GT-R (heavilly modified) run 5 or runs (no cage) before running under 10 at which point he was not allowed to run again.

Wow, so they let the GT-R run in the 10s without a cage? I have all the other stuff (helmet, fire jacket, driveshaft loop, etc...), just don't have the roll bar. If I get the clutch in I might have to ride down and test it out one Friday.
