My wife's jeep and she has more say over what needs to be done, so there is some hope lol. Update later tonight, looks to be a 3 day project.

Progress update.

Yesterday I ended up cutting out 4 more pieces that made up the inner structure of the b pillar and part of the floor board. There wasn't enough good metal left to attach to. I should have cut out even more but I didn't have any body panels pre-made for the rocker so I had to leave the edges intact.

Seat had to come out for working room as well as not catching it on fire.

Before:

After:

New plate with some primer.

Tacked in.

Some ugly welds. This was 22 ga steel, i think the original was 16-18 minus whatever the rust took away, not clean, and a flux core welder which is not designed to do sheet metal repair.

Wheel housing side filled in. I'm not sure if I'm going to put a cap on the interior side as I need access to this for one of the fender flare bolts. Maybe some windlace around the sharp corners and call it good.

I could have used a bit more metal in some places but this was what I got after 30 minutes of grinding it down.

And thus begins the game of connecting the dots using dots.

This is the part I'm thinking about leaving open. I'm going to go around all the edges with a liberal amount of sealant. Would have been nice to weld it all shut but that wasn't going to happen.

Ground down and ready for bondo and paint! It was about 7pm so paint is happening today lol.

All done in flip flops.

Started out working on my truck.

Backed Jens car out of the garage.
Spent and hour changing out the crank position sensor on the truck. Fired it up. Seems ok but I will drive it to work this week before I leave it with Jen and take her car to PA to see my grandmother next weekend.

In the mean time I striped and repainted some windshield light brackets that were on the Jeep when I bought it. They were a little rusted.

Went to pull her car back in...dead. so I coast it down the driveway and pop the hood. I clean the terminals and it fired up. Pulled it in and shut it down. Then tried to fire it back up...no dice. Had to go get a new battery.
