Larry, sounds like you were successful getting the new parts in and have it back on the road. Good to hear that you are a Subaru certified Engineer now.

On my way back from rock hill now. Just spent 2.5 hours cutting a bumper and winch off a jeep, gonna see if I can straighten it out and get the winch into a non mangled state. It's not too bad, but I did have to cut through both frame rails for it to come free.

Also scored a hilift jack for $40.

Damn. I wish I had known you were going. I need a battery hold down. Lol

Good pick on the bumper and winch though

I just bought the cheap rubber one, working so far.

We'll see how the bumper pick works out....

You mean the bungee cord type?

I'm sure you'll do something interesting with the bumper.

D'oh! Got the dreaded P0420 code this morning on the way home from work, common with the aftermarket header swap. Looks like I'll be pulling it off and wrapping it with heat tape soon. Shame, that will quiet it down some and I was really liking the sound.

Can you not use a non-fouler to get rid of that code? I don't like the header wrap because it holds heat and moisture in.

Did the non fouler thing on my Mazda when I installed a header. You get 2 of them and screw one into the other and then drill a 1/2" hole into the 2nd on so that the o2 sensor can screw all the way in but not be in the flow of exhaust.

The ones that the guy gave me with the 2000 Mustang had steel wool in the bottom. Not sure why. I never used them and they went with the car.

This one. Kind of a pain I guess but it works.

Second on pics. Was it an auto or did you convince her otherwise?
