really? I didn't think they were that bad. Of course since I kept getting bad LCA bushings I changed those F'ers like 6 times.

HAHAH! Whoops.
Well maybe I disassembled them wrong but they were about as much of a pain as reassembling a drum brake.

Not sure what you disassembled. Just release the brake inside car, pull clip off of cable at the wheel, pull down on cable to remove from bracket, disconnect from actuation arm.

Regarding the Jeep and the pinion nut. Took it to a diesel/ off-road shop and they "snugged" the nut up... not sure how confident I feel in that fix so I am currently at the house with the rear cover off. Things look ok inside. The spider gears are a litter chewed up but the Jeep has 168k on it. No big chunks missing out 9f the ring or pinion so I'm putting it back together, adding fresh fluid and hoping for the best. Oddly the old flid did not sMell like gear oil....wtf?

Jeff, I've never seen that. Guessing it's just age related. I'd probably throw some locktite on the nut.

I think that the driveline vibrations might have worked it loose? I don't know. I've never seen it before either. Hopefully they did put some loctite on it.

There was a spring involved that kept flying off lol. Owell. Not sure about that off road shop either. Guess I need to pick up gear installs for a new skillset.

Its been awhile since I've done LCAS so I am probably forgetting something.

I would really like to learn how to install gears.

Gear installs are complicated, but if you race at the track, learning will save you money!
