I hear you Alan. I would love to go some time. I guess what surprises me, is that there are so many cars. Guys are losing money on lots of them. So what makes a guy build a resto mod and then practically give it away? Of course, some of these car show don't help, they make it look so easy to make money at it.

Watching BJ this morning. This Studebaker sold for $25k, add BJ's commission and it's $27.5k. Paint and body are worth that.

I sometimes wonder if they are actually selling some of these cars. I've "no sold" things before by having a bidder in the crowd. Cost you the commission, expensive way to test the waters.

But that's a perfect example Alan. Some guy put some serious work and money into that. Walked away from it, I bet he didn't make a profit.

Damn that Stude...I'd love to have that in my garage. If you watch Fast-n-Loud he loses money on lots of the cars that he take to auction. I don't get it either. I don't have the courage to let one rip with no reserve that's for sure.

Clint, I'm not sure what I'm going to do but if I do end up getting a new engine I'll let you know. I'm actually debating just cleaning up the area of the leak really well and trying to RTV it.

I didn't think the head would leak oil without having other major side effects?

If I wasn't looking at it myself I'd say the same thing but the coolant is still green, oil is still dark brown.

Here's a pic of a 4.0 Block from the drivers side of the Jeep. the side where it's leaking is over where the pushrods come through.

So the combustion chambers can still be sealed from what I think.

So I'm guessing it's a two piece gasket with a rubber edge along that lip? Some gasket maker might do the trick, worth a shot. I've started to hate that stuff, last few tubes have developed a hole when I'm using them in the side. Really fun to scrub your hands raw.

In regards to the gasket. I think it's a one piece.

I guess it is, kinda surprising since the pushrod area doesn't look like it's on one plane.

I'm trying to figure out people on the retail sites. The little box titled "people who viewed this ended up buying" and the "items related to this" don't make any sense. Looked up a head gasket, and they bought an alternator instead. And somehow a dash pad cover is related to a head gasket.
