Haha, that's what I'm saying!

Talking to someone about a set of shorty headers I might be able to pick up this week. I'd kind of prefer to do LTs, but at the same time I don't really want to deal with the install and my clearance is cutting it close enough as is.

Shorties are just as big of a pain. But if ground clearance is an issue not much of a choice eh?

Jeff has a set of long tubes he'll let go for really cheap....

Everything I've read made shorties not seem worth the work. I'd hate for you to invest in them only to net nothing.

I dunno, I've heard that a number of times too, but when I looked for hard numbers, first off they are hard to actually find, but it seemed like a decent set of shorties did make respectable numbers themselves. There are undeniable advantages of LTs but I'm already dragging on big speed bumps as it is. I don't think I could actually live with LTs as a DD. I'm only considering because I might be able to get a good price but the seller hasn't committed yet anyway so I guess we'll see.

I was thinking though. If I did get them I might consider seeing how much my shop buddies would charge to install them. I like doing almost all work but this is one job I really wouldn't look forward to in my little garage. I've got a buddy at Piedmont, maybe I could do a dyno before and after and get some real numbers from it.

Headers aren't that bad to install if the fit is ok. Just don't get pypes or BBK. Though I guess that depends on the model. I'm not going to discourage getting before after dyno runs though, you're right way too few actual results and just a bunch of nay sayers like us Lol.

Hey, I'd usually be one myself. Go LT or go home. The price just made it interesting but I'm still half tempted to talk myself out of it, hahah. Bottom line is, shorties or LTs, the car will still be slow. Only boost is gonna change that!

Get a plasma cutter and go crazy with weight reduction. If you can borrow one it's a free mod, don't plan on keeping the resale value though!
