I was surprised to find it only 30 miles from the house.

I got there to look at it and the guy had 4 Porsche 914's, a pair of 62 Austin Healeys and a 69 Porsche 911.

In the pics the Triumph is sitting next to one of the 914's. He has sold all of the 914's in the last couple of weeks. He is keeping the Healeys and the 911.

Very cool, I've always liked Triumphs.

Painting the living room today. Ugh.

My boss has one he wants me to work on. It's just sitting in the shop yard.

I'm sure it will be a test of patience and skill in the rebuilding of the Triumph.

First order of business will be to get the body off the frame and get them both to sandblasting. I went over it pretty well and found a very few spots of rust-through. Of course I realize that after sandblasting it will all become very clear what needs to be done.
I have a 100 amp Flux Core Wire Feed welder that I have never taken out of the box. It has the hookups for gas so it should be able to weld body panels and frame sections if needed. Notice I said "it" and not "I". I have never welded before but there's no better time than the present to learn.
The engine turns over easily and was rebuilt but never run. Not sure exactly but I may just squirt a little atf in the cylinders and let it sit. I considered changing the oil just to make sure there isn't any condensation and then using a drill to run up the oil pressure and get everything oiled up before putting it aside for later.
No doubt it will be a long term project but I am looking forward to it.

Yeah frame welding with the Flux core no problem. Body panels I would not attempt it, you need solid wire and gas for mig welding which yours is set up for. Else you'll end up with a big mess and not pretty welds.
