What are you working on?
So on the 16th I went with the Wake Forest Mustang Club on a poker run to the USS North Carolina (I got the worst hand in the group). On the way there I started hearing the telltale sounding off on the left front brake.
Again.
You may or may not remember I just put new pads and rotors on this thing after having them go metal to metal on the left front in October. I thought (hoped) at the time that maybe the sliders weren't working right, so I had cleaned and lubed them up. Apparently no such luck. I knew at the time...but I had hopes...
So today I will be ordering the parts and tomorrow I will be pulling and replacing the left front caliper/hose and installing yet another set of brake pads. I haven't driven the car since the poker run, and when I checked the rotor then it was good, so at least I won't have to do that. While I'm at it I will also get the back brakes done. I have to go get the proper tool to retract the calipers on the back to do that, the cheap little cube I have doesn't fit the holes in the rear calipers.
But first, just to make sure I'm not bored, I'll be swapping out the rear rotors and pads on the Baja. It's been needing to be done for a while but I just haven't had the time to do it. Good thing the weather will be nice the next couple of days.
Sunday is supposed to be sunny and in the low 60's, so it may be time for a top-down ride to work Sunday night. Just to test the brakes, you see.

I went to Autozone and rented the tool for the rear brakes. As I was paying the refundable rental fee tha guy says " I have a brand new kit that you can buy for 20 bucks" so I just went ahead and bought it.
It's the same kit they rent.
It has all the stuff for imports and domestics.

Yeah but then you have to keep it and store it somewhere and if it breaks you're out $20. Did that route with a spring compressor, 4 jobs in and the threads galled. Thankfully it was on the decompression stroke with the strut mount in place so I wasn't gridlocked.
My Noah cover came today so I need to clean the car and cover it up before it snows again.
I got some new spark plugs yesterday and they will go in in a few days.
The sequential turn signal kit came in and I went to Auto Zone yesterday and bought all new bulbs and installed them in the new harness. I'll install them next week on a warm day.

So far so good with the kit. Storage isn't a problem. I have used it 4 times already and it hasn't messed up.. I guess it's that 5th time that is the problem.
