Cominus, the whole thing takes less than 20 minutes to fully charge the system once you get the compressor going. And the compressor shouldn't be too difficult to get started.
Assuming the compressor is good it really is easy to do.
Just remember that if it is low on refrigerant then the old refrigerant had to go somewhere. So you have a leak somewhere in the system. You may get it going and it last 10 minutes or 10 days or all summer, but it's got a leak somewhere.

Yeah I've refilled refrigerant on my v6 mustang before but that one the ac compressor would kick on and off this one the compressor wont come on period. I just checked the ac fuse and it's good. I guess i have a leak some where but i have no idea how to find it if i cant fill it with dye.

I decided to use it and it didn't come on, it's been pretty cold lately so I've used the heater most of the time, today's the first time I've used the ac in months but it worked great then, idk what happened. Do you think servicing might fix it or is this something i could possibly fix myself.

Well, I've installed compressors and dryers and all that myself so i would think you could do it whatever it is.
My guess is that you just need to get that compressor running and refill it.

Just disconnect all the lines at the quick connects and replace the o rings. Then get a vacuum pulled on it before you refill the system.

I pulled a vac on the system with a hand operated Mighty Vac on my Dads pickup last summer after replacing the Compresser, dryer and orifice tube

Hand operated? Haha. Found a pneumatic one for $50 a while ago.

Think we just made a deal on an F150 for the wife. Down payment made and contract signed on a shop building.

Busy week. My wallet is a LOT lighter.
