Default 03 GT Supercharger upgrade???

Ok so i have a 2003 GT and im wanting to put a supercharger on it. Now, my question is what all am i going to have to do??? Everywhere ive looked online only sales the kit for the cobra. So am i going to have to change out my ECU with a Cobra ECU or can i just bold everything up and get my ECU reprogramed for the supercharger?? Right now the engine is stock other than the basic add ons (cold air, program chip, long tube headers,...) so would it be a good idea to pll the engine and beef it up alittle? im only wanting to run 6-8 boost, not much and its a everyday driver. Sorry so long and so many questions

PM JJ (Sleeper_GT) and he should be able to get you some pricing on whatever units they sell. I wouldn't think you'ld need to upgrade the internals on that low of a boost level, but I'd check the technical sections too.

Procharger sells a kit for the 96-04 2V cars. Will make decent power and should come with everything you need. Probably have to do a fuel pump upgrade and maybe injectors, but if they are necessary Procharger will include it in the kit. Will definitely need a ten, and while the kit may come with a tuner, it would be best t o get a custom Dyno tune to make sure everything is safe.

What are your plans for the car? IMO, nitrous will make more power and be faster at the track on a 2v car. I have been helping a friend tune his setup (02 GT auto, LTs, 4.10, zex nitrous kit) and so far we have got it to run a best of 7.70s @ 90 mph in the 1/8 mile, which would be roughly 12.20s @ 110 in the 1/4 mile. That was on the 100 hp jets, when we put the 150 shot on it it should run well into the 11s. So, if you only are going to run it at the strip and just want to go fast as cheap as possible, go with nitrous. If you want the cool sound and want extra power all the time.... Procharger.

The weak point in the 2vs are the rods, so be careful with boost levels, etc. doesn't take TOO much to kill em.

Super. Turbo is more expensive and can be problematic. It's rarer, which has some appeal, but not for a daily driver. Don't leave us alone, we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves!

A turbo will make more power, but they can be a pain in the butt to install/maintain. I owned a turbo fox and it would fly, but there was always an exhaust leak, a plug issue, or something wrong with it. If the vehicle didn't have a turbo from the factory, it's usually a headache to add one.

Supercharge it and forget it.
