Looking at a daily driver. Found a 02 civic ex w/166k miles for $3k. Think this is a good deal. Looking for something with good gas mileage and that's reliable....

My wife had one when we got married. We had nothing but problems out of it. Might have been just a lemon but I will never own one again.

I had a 95 years ago and didn't have any problems with it. didn't know about the 01-05 or whatever models

Hers was either a 01 or 02. She bought it new and had constant problems right up til a moron on a cell phone rear ended her and totaled it. Got great gas mileage though.

I think 7/10 cheap cars you get on CR is going to be a money pit. Just find something that you know you can work on and get it for as low as the guy will sell it. Suspension stuff to me is no biggie, it's rust and leaks and electrical gremlins. Also I wouldn't say no to salvage title vehicles IMO.

We haven't had any problems out of our kia rio, low resale value could put you in one pretty easy. Only thing I've done is the timing belt and pan fluid change for the auto transmission. But Jessie got it new in college.
I'd jump on this no second thoughts.

The good thing about Honda's is that they're so popular parts are pretty cheap.

Just make sure you change the timing belt or it's EXPENSIVE!! Ask me how I know...

The timing belt has already been changed in the honda i'm looking at.

that's a plus. Cost me almost 2K when the one in my Prelude went. Took a couple of valves with it. Luckily it didn't damage any pistons.

Yea and it has a new radiator and thermostat. I may go look at it today. About an hour and a half away.
