Has anyone tried the Gilmour Foamaster II Foam Wash Gun that Autoality sells? I've heard foam guns are the best way to wash your vehicle to lessen the amount of touching of the paint. As it is, I now use either a quick detailed or waterless car wash spray to lubricate the paint when I'm drying the car off. Can already see that it needs some paint correction done though because I started learning about this stuff a couple months after I bought the car.
Anywho, I just wondered if anyone has any first-hand experience with this one, or how well foam guns work in general.

So, unless the car is totally filthy, do you find that the foam gun works well enough that you don't have to use a mitt or sponge to do any of the washing? Just shoot it with the foam and let it soak and then rinse and dry?

I still use a mitt. I use the foam gun to break down all the dirt then I rinse it off. Then I foam the car down again, leaving all the foam on the car, wash it like normal with a mitt and a bucket with soap and water.

Drying windows
When I detail cars in my spare time, my secret, awesome, amazing, special chemically formulated solution to window streaks is...............water.
For no streaks on windows I simply get my drying towel, get the quarter of it that I am using to dry with slightly moist, then wipe all the water off the window and forget it. Never fails. Guaranteed to work. No chemicals to streak or smear. Just make sure the drying towel is slightly moist then wipe/dry the window. Never fails.
The slight moistness is for low friction.

1) Ammonia glass cleaners seem to streak more than non-ammonia ones. Honestly, all you're doing is cleaning dirt, the ammonia isn't really needed. You want a glass cleaner that foams, so it helps lift the dirt, not spread it.
2) Vinegar mixed into water and a newspaper! Still a good staple to keep in your detailing arsenal, especially in winter
3) Use a cloth to apply and clean and one to buff dry
4) THE BEST SECRET: When doing the windows, clean the outside of the windows going UP & DOWN, clean the inside of the windows LEFT & RIGHT. This way, when the light hits it, you'll see which way the streak is running, and instantly know where to correct it, thus saving you time and headaches
