I did.

When we bought the car they were all bright and shiny. Now they're black.

I've thought about putting it on stands with the wheels off and trying oven cleaner. But I don't know if I want to go that far. I try to keep her car reasonably clean but she doesn't get the whole "swirl" aka "don't run the f'ing car through the bushes at work" thing. LOL. I've given up on correcting the paint but the calipers drive me nuts.

Try getting a wire brush and going to town with 3 or 4 cans of brake cleaner?
I tried that when I put new rotors and pads on it

Steam Cleaner with Brass bristle head...that should lift it =)

I've been using this little guy around the house and for minor spot removal. Does an awesome job!

hmm. Yeah, I'm sure there are about 1000000000 uses for that cool little tool but right now I'd rather spend it on an Air Compressor or small welder.

Damn that thing is cool though or should I say HOT.
