Is this a day trip or are you spending the night?

Not that interested in the Dragon anymore but would love to make this drive down Moonshiner 28. 28 starts at the TOTD and goes to Walhalla, SC.

That Moonshiner 28 sounds pretty cool too.

Just out of curiosity, why do you say you're not interested in the Dragon anymore? Is it too touristy? I've never been so I don't have an opinion.

The Dragon is a great stretch of road, very technical and glad to have driven it a couple of times. But, each time I have driven it there were close calls. Traffic got bunched up and I almost got rear ended.

We left on a Saturday morning and spent the night in Robbinsville. Early morning is the best time to drive it. I really enjoyed the Sunday morning drive out and back.

You should drive it at least once, be careful, pay attention and you will have a great time. Deb and I will probably try to make it even if we don't do the Dragon. Tons of great roads, 28, Cherohala Skyway, etc.

The only thing the area doesn't have is a bunch of great restaurants.

We have a great time wherever....

I suggest we do the same as we did the last overnight trip....

Drive up Sat, cruise some twisty roads, do the TOTD then stay at the Microtel in Robbinsville, NC (Bring beer, booze). Get up Sunday and cruise some more before heading home! Ideas????
