65 Fastback build "Project Flashback"
I am building a 65 Mustang Fastback for a lady who has had it in her family for 40+ years. She used to work on it with her father when she was in high school. It had a Windsor in it and she claims was running the 1/4 mile in the 12s when she was 16 years old.
The car has been sitting under a pole barn for about 15 years so it is nice and dusty. Evidently someone stole the transmission and some engine parts out of it (I don't know why they wouldn't just take the whole motor while they were in there) It is white with purple accents and has these cross hatch patterns in the door recess areas. Total 70s street racer vibe which i kinda dig.
The plan is to get it to be a reliable car with modern day comforts but still have huge *****.
Heres a pic of them dropping it off to me

The strip down
Got this Fastback pretty much stripped down. Just need to get the glass out and the suspension off. I am toying with the idea of making a rolling rotisserie for it but we'll see. Anyway, here are some pics of the work done so far.

Got the Windsor pulled, and it toes turn. If it was the original motor I would consider keeping it but she wants a reliable modern engine with lots of power so we are going to go in a different direction

Also, here is a copy of the rendering mu artist, Chris Clark drafted up for us. We want to keep that 70's street racer vibe to the car but give it an updated clean look to it. What do you think?

Rotisserie
Thanks for your input everyone. I am going to go ahead and proceed on building a rotisserie for it. I have browsed a bunch of forums looking at different ideas at rotisseries and different vehicle tipping systems, many of which looked very, VERY unsafe. I am just mocking up a basic rotisserie system that I think will work now. It will be nice to be able to turn the vehicle around especially during the media blast phase. It will also be nice while I am working on the rocker panels.
This is the basic concept of the rotisserie. Of course I will add more support to it and figure out a way to get some casters underneath to be able to roll the whole project around the shop.

Sodablasting
Got the Mustang soda blasted over the weekend. Overall I think everything came out better than expected. Doesn't appear to have ever been in any collisions or anything like that.
Obviously there is a little bit of rust in the left quarter... There is also a little on the left side of the trunk that will need to be addressed. Other than some dings here and there the car is pretty straight!
