1LE on a 3rd gen is a bit different than just big brakes. They had different springs, shocks, sway bars, some had a slightly different fuel tank, a different rear end, and for a few years had to be ordered without AC and power windows/locks. The idea behind them was a factory built SCCA car, like people race in the Mustang Camaro Challenge.

While they are low volume and somewhat unique, comparing it to a COPO or other ultra race car is a bit much. Its still a 3rd gen, they were weak suck from the factory and what sells the older muscle cars is the engine that came with them. Anyone who pays more than a couple grand for any 3rd gen, especially with a 305 in it is an idiot. (Does not include the 89 3.8L Turbo TA, they are a very worthy animal of the price they bring) A 350 car is slightly better but they are still saddled with the crappy electrical systems and shoddy build quality. The one good thing about a 3rd gen is that they do handle pretty well, unless you have a 4 or 6 cylinder car. The bad things about them outweigh the good things by a large margin.

The dumbass fast and furious fastback with the jap motor was on ebay a while ago. Its now on autotraderclassics.com. I guess someone finally pulled the Nissan motor out and put in a V8. I don't think this car is worth 42k though. Oh yeah, the wheels are horrendous.

A nice 64.5 Mustang... But $5,500,000.00? WOW! I guess it pays to be first in line!
