I noticed that too. I never understood the horrible phrase "When there's blood on the streets, its time to buy real estate" until lately. We've picked up quite a few nice older cars, pre-73, of various makes and models lately for hardly nothing, relatively speaking. A lot of them may never be worth a TON of money, but they sure turn heads and they turn a little bit of money on them...

And yeah, I did know the collectible Chevy's are great investment cars, but still, triple digits beyond the 100 grand mark for me is hard to get my head around on a car.

I bought a Jeep TJ Wrangler this past Sunday, KBB and NADA booked it out at about $5400 and this kid had a buttload of aftermarket stuff on it, well over 2K worth of stuff, he was hurting for $$$...I drove away with it for $3600. I did have just a touch of guilt driving it away but then I remembered people that have f@#$ed me over in the past and I got over it quickly. It's a dog eat dog world. Take advantage of it or it will take advantage of you!

I can't believe all these crazy prices. I was looking through the latest Mustang Monthly magazine (I subscribe) and it showed that a guy had the original 79 Pace Car mustang for sale at the 45th. I was there briefly but did not see this car.

The crazy thing is the article showed he had it for sale and was asking $6,300. That sounded like a great deal to me for what it was in the history of the mustang.
