Default K-code for sale

http://www.oldcaronline.com/ocdetail231515.htm

No idea if this is a legit K-code or not but someone claims to be selling a 64 1/2 convertible K-code that had a concourse resto.

Only down side is I hope you have been saving your pennies :-)

K code started in 65 not 64 1/4.

I would call BS on it.

BOUGHT CAR FROM AN OWNER OF A FORD DEALERSHIP IN LANCASTER PA IN 1988. WAS IN HIS PERSONEL COLLECTION. PROFESSIONALY RESTORED TO CONCOURSE TRAILERED LAST YEAR. THIS IS THE HIGH PERFORMANCE 289 CU.IN. 271 H.P. WITH SOLID LIFTERS, TOP LOADER 4 SPEED AND 9 IN REAREND. THIS IS THE SAME ENGINE THAT CARROLL SHELBY USED IN HIS SHELBYS WITH SOME MODIFICATION. FIRST ONE TO BE BUILT WAS JUNE 8 1964 AND MINE WAS BUILT JUNE 13 1964. REGISTERED IN THE FORD MUSTANG REGISTRY AS ONE OF 3 KNOWN TO EXIST.DOCUMENTATION AND PICTURES UPON REQUEST. WILL ALWAYS INCREASE IN VALUE BECAUSE OF RARITY.
hmm anyway to check his claim on the registry and 1 of 3 in existence? as well as the build date

It also has a rally pac and I thought that didn't come out until 65. Hey, it has to have the K engine code stamped on top of the inner fender and in the title. If it has those, it is good enough for me. Hell, at $85k I won't be driving it anyway!

Technically, aren't the 64-1/2 cars titled as 65's and referred to as Early 65's?

That was the way I always understood it to be honeygold.

Story I heard is that people were so excited about it that they released some of the '65's early and folks started calling them 64 1/2's

yea honeygold is correct. they are all technically '65s but the "early" '65s are 8/64 and prior i think.

actually is a generator or alternator? '64.5s has a generator
