Default Exhaust

Making a poll about the exhaust I might be getting after christmas. Trying to find the cheaper one. Also what muffler would you guys recommend. I've been looking at Dynomax and Magnaflow.

I voted run them out the back. Not sure why, but the side exhaust just doesnt do it for me on a stang. I like it on 67 Vettes though.

I'll help with decisions. Let me get some pics of the side exhaust and rear duals.

It's really personal choice as the performance is not much different between the different applications.

Unless your ride is heavily modded cosmetically (like mine) or just blinged out, Side Pipes are not recommended on an otherwise stock car, IMO.

It would be easier and perhaps cheaper for (concealed) side exahust, but if you get glasspacks I recommend 24"-36". 18" is raspy unless you like that. The longer the better unless you really want to push for a minuscule more HP. Check the inner core diameter; the bigger the better.

BTW, side exhaust is a bitch at drive-thrus if you like breathing. The good part is that your food always comes really fast.

I think I have a glasspack on it now. It sounded good at first, but now I sound like a ricer....

Now length are you talking about the case or the whole muffler?

Carlos, That is what I am talking about. I like the side pipes when they are like a 67 vette and you can see a few feet of them.

Considering the fact that it is a I6, i would take them out back. Side exit exhaust is cool too i guess, although most don't do a very aesthetically pleasing job at it.

But side pipes...and i hope that's not what you meant...those should only be on vettes, vipers and cobras. in my opinion, they don't belong on mustangs of any year. (no offense CP )

But in the end its your car, do with it what ever you please. thats just my 2 cents.
