I dont know how thick it would be with a powder coat. I have heard that too much paint will effect over heating. I saw a pic somewhere where they had the block chromed. they went a little over the top though it was basically all chrome.

No reason not to powder coat it. I powdercoated a couple of sets of heads with excellent results.
