Steve McQueen riding hard in a Bullitt. Will we ever be that cool? What are your memories of seeing that car? Any Mustang fabrication stories in an attempt to get that look before Ford offered it as a ready-made trim? Do you think the power it offers is enough? Should a car that looks so tough be stronger?
my buddy has a 67(not a 68 but its close enough) fastback in dark green that i want factory "S" code 4sp toploader factory ac car told me i could have it for 16,500 if only i had 16.5k

In the area of town that I work in I know where 2 S197 Bullitts live. If I can I swing by them just for a drool session. My next Mustang will be a Bullitt if I can find one in my price range.

Cool. The bullitt in the movie had a heat extractor hood. I think the best S197 replica would be one with a heat extractor hood...can't recall the brand that makes a good one. Also would need to have Silverhorse Racing lovers which I think best mimic the 60's louvers.
Of course I could be biased...my car:

My very first Mustang was a Highland Green 68 fastback GT. Only a 302, C-4 car, but a very cool ride. It was one of the first cars I tried to restore and I got in over my head. Ended up selling it while it was completely disassembled, to my neighbor.
$16,500 for a 390, 4sp is a steal unless it is completely dogged.
