Ebay is your best bet, though the good ones go for big bucks. I bought a '65 GA plate that was straight but kind of rusty for my car with the intent to repaint it. Instead, I'll probably order a custom plate using the same number and then fill out the paperwork with the tag office to use it on my car.

My grandfather has unissued plates from every state from every year. I'll ask him what he wants for a set for you and post back when i hear back from him.

Gothand, I didn't think of that! I guess if I have an original plate I can have a new one made with that number. The only thing that I don't care for is the color of the Georgia 65 plate. It is white with blue letters. I guess when looking at it, it looks like a handicap color plate. I wish it had a different background color like green or red that really helped it look old. I assume you could still do that - what cop would really know what color it was supposed to be! But I want it original like my care.

Thanks!!

It does seem kind of unique that they changed colors every year there for awhile. Do any of you guys know how to tell which county the plate was for? I see them sometimes advertised as being from this or that county but haven't found any info on how to determine that.

I'll probably have to paint this one I got off Ebay enough so I can get it approved and then will probably order the same plate to be restamped. Fortunately for me, the white and blue will work nicely.
