Default Transmission problems! help! 1967 coupe 302 C4 trany

I have a 1967 Mustang coupe (in my picture) and yesterday I bought some engine degreaser from autozone and took the car down to a self cleaning place and we covered the carb and distributor and followed the instructions, power washed it yeada yeada.. but, my real problem is when I left. I drove there and everything was fine and when I left the car wouldn't go into 3rd gear and second would only go if I manually put it in. So I had to drive home at like 35 miles an hour and that wasn't fun living in a spread out town.

My transmission has had a few problems in the past (its Automatic) for some odd reason the fluid keeps turning black. Is that because the headers are real close? or is it just really really dirty? I changed the fluid plenty of times and it keeps doing that. Also on my last trans fluid change we found a few metal fillings n such in the pan. Am i hopeless? or can Anyone help me! please help thanks!

Sterl..

You PROBABLY knocked the vac line that goes to the transmission MODULATOR off at the car wash. There is a vac line that will run from the manifold to the carb... I bet you find that one end is loose. Just plug it back in.
