Broken pistons??? Do you mean cracked pistons or broken wrist pins? I wonder what caused that. Love to see the pics when you get them posted. Also let us know what material and make the parts were that failed. Maybe we can learn from your motor's death.

And the winner is (drum roll)...............................JAMES!!!!!!

They are fried. The cylinder walls are scored a little. I'll take it in and see if I can go .060 over. Not sure if I can with a blower but I have a good idea I can. I need to have the crank polished, new bearings, pistons, and either a bore or block. Piece of cake

The pistons are forged JE. It's not the pistons fault but they did break in the exact same spot on both pistons.

Secretly she is happy because those pistons wont be scaring her to the point of needing depends to ride in the car...

That sucks man, there is a bunch of stuff on those pistons for only being a year old.

The thing that sucks is my alcohol injection wasn't working until last Friday. I had it set at 3 pounds last season and I guess the switch probably gummed up over the winter. I dialed it back in at 3 pounds and Sat she smoked. Looking at the pistons, I can also agree this has been going on for a while.

Man you detonatated the **** outta that thing. It's kinda late now, but maybe you can help someone else before it happens to them. We always pull timing before we hit the track. goofing off on the street time wise, is always shorter than a full pass. And usually less load in higher hp cars like yours. The tires spin and no load. Longer WOT at the track, good tires, so no spin, and whamo.

See if you can find the end of those rings in the pan. Also when you get the other pistons out, check for this also. Looks like with the ring bent the way it did, the rings may have butted, popping the piston apart.

Hope any of this helps. This is the part that isn't fun about these cars.
