Default My 347 is hosed

Went to the track on Sat and made two runs. The first run it started missing and the second was no better. Gobs of blow by and low compression in several cylinders. I start tear down tomorrow

yikes. sorry man. Probably best to just scrap the whole car. I'll give you $1500 which is more than a junkyard will give, so just let me know when you want me to come pick it up.

That sucks, but I know how you feel because my 347 is gone to. I tore the head off yesterday and much to my demise I couldn't seem to find my #4 piston, although I did have a nicely bent rod and some good gouges in the cylinder wall. Good luck getting it fixed though.

Thats rough, I hope it is something that is fixable, your car is by far one of my favorites... so it is a huge bummer....

Well,,,, it was fun while it lasted right?

It does suck though...

Now, go back with a 331,,, drop compression, raise the boost.... hmmm..

thanks for the condolences guys

I'm tearing into it right now. I just came in to get my camera and warm the coffee. I haven't got the heads off yet but I'll let you know what I find when I do.

It did last only one year and one month. Not many miles at all but I rode her hard and ragged. I'm not upset by any means, part of the game. If it's the block I have a Windsor waiting to be blown and stroked. Damn that sounds good!

Just got out of surgery. Two broken pistons and two blown head gaskets. The heads look a little dinged up but ok. I won't know until I test them. As it is now, the engine will come out hopefully today. I will post pics later.
