Default Interesting Craigslist ad

I didn't post this in the Official Craigslist thread because it is not strang or anything. I just though it was interesting.

http://bn.craigslist.org/cto/1209667570.html

Technically there are no "true 1964-1/2 Mustangs." I think they are titled as 65s and referred to as early 65s. But that is beside the point.
Looking at the one engine bay photo I would have to wonder what is under all that shiny paint on the body. He says the carb on the 289 was replaced with a 2bbl. Wonder if it was a 4bbl Hipo.
If it is in good shape, and the miles are true, it's a pretty good price.

The underhood shot shows it to be a generator car. That is one of the characteristics of 64 1/2 cars, at least as far as I have ever seen. The hoods of 64 1/2's are slightly different from later 65's, but the pictures aren't at the right angle to tell anything about this car. I would be interested to know what the engine code of this car is. There are other differences for the 64 1/2's, but I can't think of the others right now.

While technically designated a '65, a '64-1/4 Mustang can be identified by the generator, louvers in the radiator support for better airflow to the generator, a non-tethered gas cap, a 260ci V-8 (F code), low compression 289 (D code), 'fold-down' lips on both front corners of the hood and maybe even a different six-banger(?). There may be other differences, but I can't recall.

I also thought all 64.5 V8 cars were 260 instead of 289. The 6 banger would have been a 170 instead of a 200 wouldn't it?

I also didn't think there were any 64.5 HIPO cars, since I have never heard of a 64.5 K code.
