How can you tell if your car is getting close to overheating? There are no temp reading on the gauge. At this point it has not released steam from the cap, but seems pretty hot when I turn it off...I have heard that 210 degrees is normal for these cars. Could it be a simple as replacing the radiator cap? I dont know the last time it was replaced. Any thoughts?

Probably not, if it isn't venting. The "gauge" you have is pretty lame, though. Go in the kitchen. Get the digital cooking thermometer. Tape it to the upper hose, away from the fan. Warm the engine all the way up, on a short drive, whatever. Check the temp. Put the thermometer back. Don't get caught.
