omg, I don't even know how to weld but I think I can do better than that just because I know all the concepts behind it and how welding works in general.

I don't even think I WANT to watch the other vids

Is that car going to come right apart when they get it running and romp on it???

Any HP that the engine will produce will rip that thing right apart when gotten on?

Am' I right in thinking that just looking at what/how he is trying to repair that thing?

It will probably hold up for some time even with 450 Hp or less and street tires....we may never know.

Damn. After watching progress #13 it seems like the kid is welding or re-welding better then Bob did.
Crude craftsman ship or not, you gotta giver them credit, they have gotten a lot of time into it. It just seems like the kid is fixing or trying to fix all of Bob's welding mess's.

Its hard to say for sure but I would think not really too strong...They are the weak points and will fail eventually. The base metal was crap and the weld looks cold so its safe to say weld penetration is little if none. The idea is to melt the base metal and filler rod....not to apply the filler rod over the base metal like soldering / brazing...

I still think its a bit stronger than it looks and will probably work for some time.

Is this partially because he using a cheap Harbor Freight welder and he would have done better with say a 140 amp Lincoln or Millermatic. Or is just plan not know what he is doing or both?
