Default Rim Issue with Disc Brake swap

I bought the swap kit for my 1968 Coupe from CSRP
http://www.discbrakeswap.com/

The kit was the swap 3 for 68-69 Mustang. I want to run original rims and hubcaps so I went with this kit. All went fine until I put the rim on. The rotor hits the rim ( excellent for brake stand but not so good for driving)

The car almost certainly has the original rims on it. They are 5 lug 4.5" with a 3.75" backset. I used washers to space out the rim and it needs about 1/2" to clear. Searching the forums, I found a thread about different style rims but it wasn't enough to solve my questions. My car was built in September of 1967. I am wondering if I have 67 rims which won't fit.

The rims have 3 tabs around the inside ring ( for a "baby moon" ) and it appears to be 10" inches in diameter.

What rim do I need to make this work? Any help greatly appreciated.

First of all do not use washers to space the wheel! Thats a safety issue.

Secondly, Are you factory wheels 14 or 15 inch? I bet they are 14s. If that is the case then you may have to upgrade to 15s. I know that even the Granada brakes won't work with 14 inch wheels.

Drums and disc both have different back spacing. You can go to the auto parts store and get a spacer.

I just had the washers to figure out what I needed! I am running 14s and I want to run the original hubcaps. Hopefully, there is someone else with this issue.

Thanks

Did you end up working out how to fit 14 inch rims? I would like to run the granada kit along with hub caps on the 14s and I'm interested in what your solution was.

Forget it. Even stock wheels won't fit the Granada, the center hub is too large, you'd have to use black Granada wheels. There are other problems with the Granada setup, to, such as the slightly different arm geometry, limit stops, and huge tie rod holes.

There are kits that bolt right on and allow using your original wheels. A Granada kit is NOT cheaper when you have to spring for wheel alignment and new wheels to install it!

Magnum 500's fit the Granada hubs. I have them on my car.

But yeah, the snout is a bit large on the Granada hubs. I know that the spare tire wheel that I picked up is for a 70's car. The older wheels have too small of a center hole.

You will need to probably run 15 inch wheels. I think you can get reproduction hub caps in that size though.

None of the stock 65-73 Mustang wheels will fit the Granada Brakes, as none of the Factory Calipers, Hardware, Brackets, Bearings, Tie Rod ends, and rotors.

All Stock center holes are Smaller than the Hubs on the Granada Brakes.
