Default 1973 Mach 1 wheels

I have a 1973 Mach 1 with the 351 Cobra Jet and I am looking to put new wheels and tires to finish it off. I want to know what size and type wheels will fit without modification....I want something semi-classic, but a bit bigger and wider. I was looking at 17x9 (rear) and 17x8 (front) with a lower profile tire. Does anyone have any info or experience as to whether this will work or not or what options are out there. If you can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Do you have a buddy with a newer mustang? You could allways talk him into trying out his wheels to see if you like them. and then get some spacers if the look is ok.

Or just do a search. try www.dodgestang.com He has a wheel fitment chart that might help you out. Its got pics too.

I just checked and dodgestang has a 73 with some 16 inch torque thrust wheels in a pic.

I am partial to 15 inch Magnum 500s. I have them on my 65. If I had a 69-73 Mach, it would have them on it without a doubt. That is the perfect wheel for those cars.

It would definitely have wider tires on it and even wider in the rear.
