i paid $3000 for my 65' with a 5.0 from a 96' and a five speed (working A/C) that needed very little body work.......runs like a bat out of hell, can start in 3rd and leave marks

The 5.0 wasn't available in 96 except in trucks. By then it was the 4.6. Are you sure its a 96 5.0? That sounds like a good deal though. Do you have pictures of it?
