you need to build your cam around your heads. with stock heads i would stay under .500 lift.

what type of intake did you add? Try and match the rpm range of the intake with the cam and since you have headers it will probably run pretty great. Are you running the stock 4bbl carb or something else?

my idea has also to be to add heads and cam at the same time. you can add a new cam with new intakes. keep the lift under .500 (as said....springs wont take anymore). you will always get more performance upgrading the intake and cam but ive always been in the camp to wait till you upgrade the heads too and match those together with your intake.

in my own opinion id upgrade the engine more (heads, ignition, fuel pump, exhaust, etc). however......the cam depends on how you want to run the car. in short, the higher the duration the lift, the less streetable it will be but you can make more power at higher rpm's. more mild cams will make more power at more streetable power and lower rpm's

this is in short what i know......not specific but general idea i think

if it's stock heads don't use anything with high ramp rates as that will pull the studs out of the heads (desaster). i would stay well under .500

as for the cam we need to know heads, intake, auto/manual and what gearing in the back

btw try the technical section of this classic forum... will get you more responses
