I took my carb off the car to rebuild it the other evening and noticed that the fuel bowl vent system was taken off and the hole plugged. on my autolite 1100 1-V carb. I have never rebuilt one of these carbs before so I know nothing about it. Will this carb work with the vent system disabled?
FYI
I just bought the car a couple of months ago. It sat for over 2 years with bad gas. I took the tank out, cleaned the rust out, sealed the tank. I replaced the fuel sending unit, cleaned the gas lines, replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the small fuel filter that screws into the carb. I get gas into the carburetor but not getting it into the engine so I decided to rebuild the carb. I can start the car and it will run as lone as I am spraying starting fluid into the carb. When I stop spraying the car dies.
