Hey, im looking for a 67 fastback to put a sohc "cammer" into. I dont have any parts but was looking to see if anyone could help start me off telling me where a "cammer", or a 67 mustang would be. Looking for engine in any condition, and as for the condition of the car i just want it to not have that bad of a body. A little rust is okay, as is a few small, and medium dents.

If you talking a true 427 SOHC I hope you got around $15-20K for the engine alone. My buddy built one back in 'mid late 80's and cost him around $6-8K back then to find one piece by piece, getting parts from all over the country, then put it together.
Your looking at a extremely rare and hard to find motor and you will pay dearly for it.
Good luck.
Lynn

That's the stroker 4.6 mod motor cammer. Not nearly as awesome as the 427 SOHC, but still a pretty slick piece of machinery, and definitely more reliable. Not exactly cheap, though, and a PITA to cram into an early engine bay. 4V mod motors are wider than 429/460's.

Yeah, if you come across one in a junk yard, and the owner doesn't know what he has, you'll make a killing. I have a good friend who is 'the' car guy and he thinks there might be 30 or so running 427 SOHCs around. Expect to pay at least $20K for one.
Someone is making new stuff now to turn any FE motor into a cammer. Can't remember who it is but I saw an article on it in one of the car rags. Still LOTS of money to do, though.
