Default 1969 Mustang Dash Guages Problem

Just finishing up the restoration process and thought everything was finally good. Started up the car and the fuel gauge, temp gauge, were both pegged at max. The oil guage was also not acting normal. Any suggestions of what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Barry

Sounds like you have a short. They all work on resistance that is relayed to them by the senders. If you have the sender wire grounded, it will peg the gauge. Check to make sure you didn't pinch or run a screw through any of the wiring.

Sounds like aa typical bad IVR. The regulator that controls the guages. It should have 12v going in but a pulsed 5v coming out. I would check or replace that.

I thought about the IVR but, not being familiar with the '69 gauge panel, I wasn't sure if it had one.
