Norm muttstang only thing left ford on it is the sheet metal but its one mean car tho.The problem i see daily with big rims is no one ever puts bigger brakes to stop the extra rotating mass or re gear it you'll see a g body on 20s or bigger and hear the engine scream and its only doing 50mph if that. There is always a way to do things but most do them wrong.

Theres nothing wrong with it if you want to have it in there. Actually an original one in mint condition would be kinda cool.

There is no such thing as type R exhaust for a classic Mustang as far as I know though. Only this.

Also, not all of the setups sound the same because some guys have different mufflers. Stay away from Flowmaster by the way.
I like this exhaust

I might even put it on mine...

As for the rim debate, not even going to comment

Any good exhaust shop may be able to convert your existing setup to this, unless your old one is just too crappy with age.

Sweet! I can't wait to hear a video of it.

I had considered it, before I got the Dynomax mufflers.

here is my 65 with factory 17 inch mach 1 wheels.

if you put 20s on yours, you need to hand the keys over to someone who will appreciate a classic car. the 65 body style, espically the coupe, is too SMALL of a car for 20s. if you had a 69 fastback, it can be pulled off if you have good taste.

i like the mach1s but has any one seen and classic mustang with 17" Saleens?

Also if I was going to use wheels off a late model ford. And needed to upgrade my rearend would it be possible or ezer to just take a sold axle out of a newer mustang that way its stronger and already the right width plus it would already have disk brakes.
