04's didn't come with 20". Are these an aftermarket? I would go no larger than 17's.

To even run a 20 up front will take some rubber band tires and turning will be fun they will rub.A 26 inch tire is the tallest that will fit which means a 275/35 18 is the biggest.Which are kinda low profile tires. You could do a 18 front 20 rear but it will take a mini tub to use it.

No offense but I'm not helping you put 20's on a classic mustang.

Default bolt pattern

my main concern is the bolt pattern, not so much the fact that they are 20s. i have 2 (4 wheel) sets of 1966 magnum 500s, one chrome and one black and silver, and would like to have something else to throw on for show. and yes aftermarket. nothing special but something i am interested in putting a little money into.

Thats just a bad idea. Please do not go larger than 17. These cars do not have the large wheel wells like the newer cars, besides that you will have fitment and handling issues.

I personally think that 16 is big enough for a classic Stang.

20 in wheels would be very difficult to handle and steer, even if you didn't modify the suspension and found a 40 series tire.

Even if you like donks (somebody out there does), this is at the top of the list of bad ideas when it comes to wheels. Good luck.

Anything is possible
