I suggest a TKO 500 or 600 check Summit Racing's website or catalogs. The 500 is rated @ 500 lbs and the 600 @ 600 lbs. You can choose what OD ratio you want on the 5th gear as well. Hope this helps, good luck.

Nice Cougar, I have a thing for them too. Yours is green, mine is red, and if parked together it would be like Christmas in June. 
TKO and a Cleveland are the easy way to get in the 12s, or a 251W with aftermarket heads, a cam, and other goodies. I prefer autos, but the TKO should hold up where the T5 just breaks.
