Default 25 years sleeping - 69 Mach 1 unveiled!

Hey all,

Long time BMW owner - now we have a little muscle to throw into our car arsenal

I had posted this @ bimmerforums, but I don't think they'll appreciate it like ya'll will. I will be on here more and more as we start dumping more time & money into the car.

I'm going to be lazy & copy and paste

Cliffsnotes:
1969 Mustang Mach 1 w/ 428 cobra jet engine, 4 speed- Dad had the car in highschool. Drove away with mom after marriage in it. Transmission broke off on highway. Put a 302 in there to make it run. Still have 428 (& extra block)

Unrestored - just buffing paint first then interior. No fixing dents, rust, nuffin'.

--------------------------
--------------------------
--------------------------

My dad's first love, his red 69' Mach 1 , has come out of 25 years of under-the-cover sleep.

428 cobra jet engine, no tranny - all bells & whistles.

Back in 85-86' the 4 speed tranny quite literally fell out of the rear of the car, causing my dad to have to park it. I was just born, and as all parents reading this know, money gets pretty hard to come by after kids (especially 3). He has not been able to pull it out until now... now that we have a garage! Same car he pulled away in after he married my mom.

Here's some photos. I just spent all day detailing the roof and rear driver's side column... will probably take me a good solid month to detail the whole car to my liking.

BTW - We have an extra 428 cobra jet block - I cannot find a price for how much they're worth.... anyone know?

^^ After a quick rinse --- 25 years of dust, ugh ^^

^^back home!^^

------
Pics as of 11/21/10

here are some new pics. I've been spending alot of time on each section... just finished the front driver's side. Have finished the roof, rear column and top-side rear quarter, & front driver's side & topside quarter panel. About 1/4 of the way done with the exterior.

Haven't touched the interior... the engine will also be a slow process. We're going to bring the engine inside of her to life first - just so she can move. The 428 resto will be down the road. Luckily Dad bought some sweet 302 headers back in the day - so the dinky 302 will at least sound good.

Also took pics of the garage (and gun/panic room)
--Dad is a really big shotgun/vintage gun guy

I like this photo

this one is neat too

eek!!! streeks, didn't see these till now, will fix asap

You can easily see where my dad used to sit on the car back in High School. He admits it.

The garage:

From the driveway

The side garage

Closer up on the side garage

The 6 (in repair & also FS)

store room in side garage, lots of room... dirtbikes & large bits in here.

The front/main garage

Front main garage, up close and looking right.

Closer up, looking at the gun room door. Seriousness.

Inside gun room (I call it the panic room)

From the back-right corner looking back at the door.

& from the other side

Very nice car! My cousin is the original owner of a 69 mach too. But don't think it's the 429 CJ

I'm not gonna get on your bad side either after seeing some of those pics lol

Welcome to the forum! The best part of this car is the personal history. It's priceless! I love the Keystone wheel... Does that bring back memories... Cant wait to see more of the car in the future
