how could I lower the door post on my 65 coupe? please help.

my bad I was tired last night when I posted this, I meant striker. How or can you lower door striker?

You gotta adjust the door hinges with the car being old its probably got sagging hinges on it.

body lines line up until i close the door, you have to give it a little pick me up. to close it then body lines wont line up. if i can only lower the striker it will be ****.

If you have to lift up on the door to shut it its the hinges are wore out.

there is some adjustment in the striker, if you've loosened it up and you can't go down anymore than you need to take it off, you also need to remove the backing plate then file the squares holes down a little. You'll also need to grind a little off the bottom of the backing plate.

I have the same problem, the striker lifts the door so the top of the door is too high. Haven't gotten to it yet but its on the list of things to do before I rehang the doors.
