Default New Project...Tempted

Stopped by friend's scrap yard today looking for a 4R70W tranny. While I was there this came off the flat bed. He kept saying "I can put your name on it. We'll drop it off at the house on Monday." I was so tempted, while it was on the fork lift I got a good look at the bottom, the pans are perfect but the rockers have some rust. I wish I had the room.

BTW, I did find a tranny, came out of a 2002 4.2V6

T-Bird, huh ? What year? Doesn't look too bad - how was the interior ?

I don't know squat about T Birds but I know that I have too many projects going already !

You and me both. By this time on Monday it will be in the crusher seen to the right of the bottom pic. I don't know, I still may take it, especially if he can store it away for me until summer.

You have to save this car. Get it and hold onto it whatever way possible. You cannot allow this to go into that crusher! That would be a complete shame. If I was there, I'd take it!

You have to save it!!!! You can always make someone else a happy new owner of a tbird. You might even make some money when you do.

I can probably get the car for next to nothing since I think he only paid a few cents per pound for the scrap. I going to get there sometime on Monday and take a closer look. The the loader lifted off the flat bed the pans looked good but the rockers had a bit of rust. The trunk floor also looked good but I didn't pop the hood. Interior wasn't bad, looked to have power windows. What is the parts availability like on these cars, as easy to find parts as a mustang?

I need to move and get a place with more property. The 4 cars we already have take up all the room and with another I'll be parking on the street

One of the employees saved a 61 Ranchero 2 weeks ago.

I would buy it.

Has nice lines.

Has rare parts and would make a sweet ride.

Shame to crush it.

Well I suppose you could part it out if you thought it was too much work. That's a win-win for you and others looking for decent replacement parts. With that being said, I know what "no space" mean.
