This is the encouragement I needed to do my own C4.
I've got 2 right now, one from each car, and they're so cheap I probably can't even sell them. Maybe if I rebuild them both I can scrape enough to get a solid T5. Not looking like it's in the cards right now though. I'll do fine with a C4, I would just prefer a stick.

No junk yard up here has a C4. All the old stuff has been gone for years. I rebuild transmissions, and I would rather run a C4 than the FMX in the 71, mainly so I can get a decent stall for it cheaper, not because the FMZ doesnt work good. I have two of them in Nebraska, but that is 850 miles away.
Besides a C4 is stupid easy to rebuild, you dont even have to worry about cutting the clutch drum seals since they dont have a lip.
Weigh it and find out what shipping to 49822 is.

Wait until summer when everything is running and I can send you my other complete C4. Not ready to part with it until the 4R70W conversion is complete.
